GEN Standards
Working with clients for a risk-free legacy
We are proud of the systems we have built at GEN. To enable them to be truly effective and continually improve our business, we created GEN Standards.
GEN Standards are a specific set of consistent, measurable expectations surrounding our delivery, monitored and documented through GEN TRAX across Health & Safety, Environment & Sustainability, Quality Management, Design and Project Support.
The benefits of GEN Standards
-
- We continually measure our performance, ensuring our clients are receiving the service they deserve.
- We excel well beyond the basics for health and safety. Our GEN Standards are not the minimum requirements but high expectations we expect at GEN.
- We audit the effectiveness of our systems ensuring we align to the principles of our ISO standards and eliminate the risk to our clients.
- Every project has a live performance Dashboard against our standards, ensuring recognition and improvement action occurs in real time.
- We understand what we must do to set up a project for success, from material planning aligned to programme to design deliverables and offsite manufacturer.
- We gather amazing data that enables us to implement targeting learning, development, and positive change.
GEN TRAX Digital Compliance
Putting comprehensive, transparent, real-time compliance and quality management in the hands of our clients.
Compliance is at the core of everything we do. But just doing the right thing isn’t enough. We make sure we’re able to prove that we’re delivering on GEN standards at every step of the build journey.
Five years in development, TRAX is a data-led evidence based system providing comprehensive, transparent, real-time compliance and quality management.
-
- TRAX has been part of GEN’s DNA for most of our existence and was built as a bespoke platform, specific to the needs of our clients and ourselves.
- TRAX delivers our safe systems of work and proof of compliant installation.
- TRAX enables real time management of our GEN Standards.
- TRAX is adaptable to suit any type of project and requirement.
- TRAX proves what we do is compliant.
- TRAX generates data that enables us to assess competency and knowledge of our workforce.
- TRAX works progressively allowing health, safety and quality processes to happen freely.
Don’t just take our word for it – independent safety experts agree:
“I have worked with GEN for nearly 4 years at all levels delivering safety advice. Safety always comes first but is very closely followed by Quality and Environmental. Their attention to detail and clarity through the innovative “TRAX” digital platform transparently demonstrates compliance. There is quick and easy access to all documents with clear audit trails. It’s always nice to work with a company that really understands safety!”
Brian is an experienced independent consultant with 35 years in Health & Safety. He regularly assesses GEN sites to verify the accuracy, consistency and deployment of GEN health & safety, and quality inspection processes, against GEN Standards.
ESG
With our ISO14001 accreditation, GEN takes its Environmental and Sustainability commitments seriously.
To adhere to GEN Environmental standards, we work closely with our clients to help them achieve the required BREEAM project ratings. All timber products are FSC certified and we prioritise ethically sustainable sources for the procurement of other materials and products.
Over 70% of our vehicle fleet has moved to hybrid or full electric models. GEN holds regular Environment-themed tool box talks and we source local labour and materials supplies relative to site locations, wherever possible.
Using GEN TRAX, we strive to efficiently schedule materials that align with client programme build sequences and logistics management.
This means we can enable our procurement schedule to align with design specification, ensuring compliance against the approved specifications.
Deliveries are assigned to work areas allowing efficient and area specific material loading.
Waste is minimised through detailed scheduling and planning requirements, not generic call-offs.
We take an agile response to schedule amendments should specification changes arise, and evaluate impacts on waste/logistics expectations accordingly.
We are proud to get behind several local community sports initiatives, proposed and championed by our GEN team.
Abbey Rangers FC in Addlestone, Surrey will benefit from GEN pitch-side sponsorship across the 2024/25 season.
We also maintain ongoing support for Team Goodwin, the European & UK Grasstrack trophy holders. Grasstrack is a high-octane, off-road motorbike sports category with a driver and passenger sidecar. Team Goodwin competes across Europe and have scored six British and one European titles to date!
